Planet Comicon and Spring Events

Hello again fellow cosplayers, cosplay fans, and other Mix 93 fans. It has been a busy last few months for me personally with school, hence the time between posts, but eventually that will improve and posts will be more frequent. There have been a few events that have happened and several more coming up in the next few months and I will make certain to post more frequently as the later summer events get closer so everyone has the information they need to get out and enjoy it with us.

Let's make this about the events that happened since my last post. We had Planet Comicon here in March and it was a fantastic turnout. Things started out on Friday with me debuting Cyclops for the first time at a con and I received a lot of compliments including a few people saying it was the most accurate Cyclops they had seen, so that started things out on a high for me. Most of the first day was spent catching up with friends I hadn't seen in a while, browsing some of the booths to plan purchases for later, and posing for a lot of pictures. The thing I found most surprising though was the number of times I was asked when Vector, my Umbrella Corp spec-op character, would be appearing and I decided to break that out on Saturday. I worked with another group and helped them with a few shoots including getting to gear up as one of their Viper pilots for a Battlestar Galactica shoot including their own Cylon. On Sunday I had a brief chat with Michael Rooker and obtained an autographed picture to Teresa and just generally spent most of the day taking pictures with people and then having fun. Truly the highlight of Sunday though was helping to escort a brave child from Children's Mercy Hospital. A large group of cosplayers greeted him and escorted him through the celebrities and then through the con to the cosplay area where cosplayers took pictures with him and his group of supporters. Planet Comicon brought all types of scifi and movie celebrities plus numerous creators of art, armor, cosplay equipment and even UltraSabres where I purchased a new lightsaber to go with my upcoming Dark Jedi cosplay. I could keep going about everything that happened, but instead I'll just show you a glimpse…

What else is going on? Well cosplayers are doing more things locally such as showing up at events like a mother & son dance for Mother's Day, fundraisers for charity plus spending time at Children's Mercy Hospital, and with all that plus cons we still find time to hang out and have our own photo shoots. We went out to (near Warrensburg) and shot photos at an abandoned store where numerous locals stopped to take selfies and photos with us, tried to hitch hike on highway 13, and then made our way through the woods to confront each other. If I kept going about everything coming up, this would turn into a giant post. So, I decided to stop here and post another one in a day or two about everything coming up…so check back in for details on O Comic Con, Kansas City Comic Con, Crypticon KC, TopCon, Zombie Walks, etc…lots coming up towards to end of summer people!

Until next time, I am Vector of Umbrella Corp Denver. Umbrella – Our Business is Life Itself.
