Apparently the Force was not with Harrison Ford last week as the ankle injury that he experienced appears to be more serious than initially reported. Last week Ford was taken from the set to a UK hospital after a hydraulic door on the Millenium Falcon fell on him during filming at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. While it had been reported as a minor injury, even though some reports state Ford was airlifted to the hospital, it has now been shared that Ford will miss the next 6-8 weeks of filming. Given that the studio is saying that it won't impact the release of the film as there plenty of other actors and scenes to be worked on, they also stated that it did take a lot of reworking of the schedule and scene filming order. To me this says that Ford has a much bigger role in the film than was initially speculated, but I could be wrong.
Long time Ford fans will recall that he was also injured in the filming of the 1984 movie, The Temple of Doom. In that instance, Ford injured his back severely enough that surgery was required and a look alike stand in was used to film several scenes.
Good luck and a speedy recovery to Harrison Ford…
