Ok, ok so everyone's giving Gisele a hard time today for making some comments about the Patriots loss at the Superbowl. Yeah, she kinda did throw hubby Tom Brady's teammates under the bus. And then of course, there was that little email that leaked to the public a couple of weeks ago that she had sent to close family and friends asking them to pray for her 'Tommy' - that he wins the Superbowl. Tom's embarassed. The team's mad at him. Ya wanna know what I think? I think she simply loves her man and was seriously asking for prayers for him (and yeah, why not call him Tommy!? At least it wasn't Sugar Butt or something like that!) I also think she was just feeling passionate about the intense game that meant a lot to her man and she was defending him by saying what the said. Is that so wrong?
So, what did you think of the Superbowl last night??! Ok, so I'm not the biggest football fan in the world... I am one of those who watches for the halftime show and the commercials. Let's talk Madonna for a minute. It wasn't the show... it wasn't the music... it wasn't the special effects... I am a Madonna fan (don't get me wrong). But, I just feel like she's getting too old to prance around the stage like that and even get on LMFAO's shoulders. It was kind of hard for me to watch! I cringed! I know, I know... for a woman in her 50's she has a killer body and looks great. I get that. And I think it's awesome that she has the strength and ability to perform. But, I feel like she isn't the Madonna we knew and loved in the 80's and 90's anymore. I guess what I'm wanting from her is a different more age-appropriate look/feel/sound? The pom-poms... really??? She looked like she was trying to be 15 and that was just weird for me. I'd love to read your comments so feel free to let me know I'm way off or maybe you agreed with me??
Ugh! Are you as sick over this case of missing 10-month old, Lisa Irwin, as I am? I feel physically ill when I see her sweet little face on the news. I pray that she is safe and being well-cared for and that this case comes to a close with a happy ending VERY soon! I used to hear the phrase 'a parent's worst nightmare' -- but now that I'm a parent, it has a much deeper impact. I can't even begin to imagine. Horrifying. Just horrifying.
If you know ANYTHING at all or have even the smallest tip -- please contact authorities. Let's all pray that this little girl is found soon.
On a happier note, I'm really excited because my nephews are flying in from Maryland this weekend! Matthew is taking them to the NASCAR race at the Speedway on Sunday! While the boys are doin' their thing... I'll be having a Stella & Dot jewelry party! (Have you seen their stuff? So cute!) And I'm kinda cracking up because, I'm a beer girl... I hate wine. So, I had to text one of my girlfriends and ask what kind to buy and where do I get it!!! Hey, what can I say?
Tomorrow my sweet little girl will be ONE! I can't believe it. That was the FASTEST year of my life. But also - the most incredible. She is the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I feel so blessed because we tried for three years to have her and there were days while we were going through our infertility struggle that I wondered if it would ever happen. I think that's why I welcome every sleepless night and dirty diaper with a smile on my face. I'm grateful for all of it.
So, her party is on Sunday! It's a 'peace' theme -- ... peace love and fun, Julianne is turning one (I made that up. Poet and don't know it. ha!) My mom flew in for it. Ok, ok - I did go a *little* crazy on an outfit for her... she'll be wearing a tutu and a shirt with a '1' on it (and her name embroidered)... and she may or may not have two other outfits ready to go for the day.

Hello! I hope you had a great summer. We did -- but as I've noticed with life in general lately, it FLEW! The only thing that excites me about the end of summer is... fall clothes. ha ha! I had an event downtown at P & L last night and checked out the Garment District boutiques for the first time -- wow! They have some really cute stuff. I cleaned out my closet last weekend and realized that I have nothing cute for fall because I was wearing sweats this time last year after I gave birth and stayed at home for three months on maternity leave! So, needless to say, I'll need to do a little shopping soon (darn... ha ha!!)
So, yeah, about that little baby girl I had! Julianne is just too much. Growing SO fast. I know all parents probably think their kid is a genius... but I really do think she's super smart! She pointed and said 'flower' yesterday. I couldn't get over it. My husband thinks she's talking so much so fast because her mother never shuts up . He's probably right.
My nieces came to town from MD last week and I took them to the Selena Gomez concert. That was so much fun. I spoiled them rotten (as a good aunt should) and fed them lots of sugar (as a good aunt should)... but funny thing, when they got home they told my sister, "yeah, Aunt Jenn doesn't really cook a lot" -- HA!!! Guess I should learn how to make more than cereal and pop tarts for their next visit .
So, I probably need to get over it -- but I'm still SO mad about the Casey Anthony 'not guilty' verdict! Just sayin' -- she and OJ should get married. Just PLEASE don't have any children. I could go on and on... but instead I'll tell you about my awesome trip to the beach last week! We had such a fun time. I was worried that Julianne wouldn't like the sand (I hear lots of kids don't like it!) But, she LOVED it! She also LOVED the pool! And, guess what she started doing yesterday? CRAWLING! Big girl. Growing up so fast. This crawling thing has totally changed my life -- she's into everything! I love watching her explore and investigate everything. I'm amazed at how I can put a whole display of Fisher Price toys in front of her and the only thing she goes for is the piece of hair or lint on the floor. ha ha!! Ok, so a random variety of topics today! But that's how I roll. Here goes.
Bin Laden. Dead. Controversy over whether or not to release the photos of his body. Prez Obama finally says it's not happening. Do you really want to see it???? Maybe I'm alone in this, but I have no desire to look at the gore. I believe that he's gone and the world is better for it. That just sounds like a disturbing image that I don't want to have nightmares about later. Just my two cents!
Ok, now let's lighten things up a bit by talking about Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's adorable twins! Well, I say adorable because they're both such good lookin' people, surely their kiddos will be equally as attractive! But, no pics have been released yet. I'm predicting a People Magazine release very soon. We do know their names now. The little girl is Monroe -- darling! Love it. The little boy is... Moroccan. That's his name. Moroccan. Named after the name of the rooftop terrace where Nick proposed to Mariah. Now, while the romantic part of me completely appreciates the sentiment... the "somebody shake me and snap me back into reality" part of me says -- REALLY???? Matthew proposed to me at Disney. Ahh, Disney Matthews... ummm... no.
And finally, let's talk soaps! I'm a DOOL watcher for 20+ years so I know how important the soaps are to so many! A couple of weeks ago we found out that AMC and OLTL have been cancelled. Boooo : ( The latest? GH fans... you're not gonna like this one bit. Rumor has it that Katie Couric is about to sign a deal for a daytime talk show (a la Oprah) and if it happens -- bye bye GH. Keep ya posted.
