The "legen -- wait for it -- dary" tale of one man's search for the love of his life is about to come to an end on the series finale of "How I Met Your Mother." The hit CBS comedy wraps its ninth season tonight with a one-hour episode that will finally detail the first meeting between Ted and the "mother". The "How I Met Your Mother" finale starts at 7:00 p.m. on CBS.
Chris Martin will share a few battle tips on tonight's episode of "The Voice." The Coldplay frontman is a guest mentor for all four teams as the NBC singing competition enters its second Battle Round. Martin's TV appearance comes in the midst of his "conscious uncoupling" from wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
Winners at Saturday night's Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards included Jennifer Lawrence, Selena Gomez, One Direction, Adam Sandler and Katy Perry. Meanwhile, Austin Mahone, Pharrell, Cody Simpson, Kaley Cuoco and the show's host, Mark Wahlberg, all got slimed.
CHELSEA HANDLER'S manager says Chelsea plans on leaving the E! channel when her contract is up later this year to explore other opportunities. Her show, "Chelsea Lately", has been on the network for eight years . . . and they supposedly pay her $9 million a year.
Josh Elliott from "Good Morning America" is leaving the ABC show for a new gig with NBC Sports. Elliott, who came to "GMA" from ESPN in 2011.
Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald are going their separate ways. The "Twilight" actress and "American Idol" alum have confirmed in a statement to "People" that they will be ending their two-year marriage. A rep for Nikki says the couple "remain best friends" and still plan to release a joint album together later this year.
SELENA GOMEZ is wearing a ring on her engagement finger that was supposedly a gift from JUSTIN BIEBER. A source says it's NOT an engagement ring, but they're back together and serious. Her family is now worried that she'll, quote, "do something crazy like elope with him."
MEGAN HILTY from "Smash" is expecting a baby in September . . . the first for her and her husband.
IN MOVIE NEWS:
Disney's blockbuster "Frozen" is now officially the highest grossing animated film of all time. It has racked up one-billion-72-million-dollars in sales since hitting theaters in November. "Frozen" also snagged two Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song "Let It Go".
The new "Harry Potter" spin-off, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", will be a TRILOGY. The movies are described as neither prequels nor sequels. But they'll take place 70 years before the events in the "Harry Potter" series.
If "Top Gun 2" ends up happening, it'll be about TOM CRUISE having to prove that human pilots are still necessary in the age of DRONES. Right now it's a matter of settling on a budget the studio will agree to and finding time in Tom's schedule.
"Noah" is the new box office leader, taking in 44-million-dollars in its first weekend in theaters…the highest opening figure for a film starring Russell Crowe. Meanwhile, "Sabotage" is getting off to a slow start. Its opening weekend earnings of just five-point-three-million is the worst debut for an Arnold Schwarzenegger film in nearly 30 years.
