You're Next is this year's quintessential slasher flick starring Sharni Vinson (Step Up 3D), AJ Bowen (What Fun We Were Having), and Rob Moran (Hall Pass). The story takes place in a mansion during a family reunion rand after coming under attack by men wearing scary animal masks, the family must try to escape or fight to survive.

This movie is everything a horror fanatic is looking for in a slasher movie.  It's scary, ridiculously violent, and surprisingly funny.  I won't give anything away, but there's one part of the storyline that made it this movie pretty awesome and a blast to watch.
As far as the acting goes, I can say it was okay.  I thought Rob Moran, Sharni Vinson, and Barbara Crampton (Read You Like a Book) did a good job and there were a few performances I didn't care for... but in all fairness how much can you really expect from a horror film?
On the flipside, there were a few things that were very good in this movie.  I was highly impressed with the cinematography.  The close angles and handheld shots were terrific and added a lot to the story.  The other thing that really stood out was the sound editing.  It was mixed very well and the soundtrack was great.  The makers of this movie really captured the feel of a true classic horror movie, but added a fresh twist to the story that made this film an exciting and very bloody thrill ride.
If you like overly violent slasher movies, you don't want to miss this one.
My grade for this film: B+
