Jason Biggs is now apologizing for an ill-timed joke about Thursday's Malaysian Airlines disaster.  The "American Pie" actor originally fired back at critics with a series of profanity-filled tweets but has since deleted those and his initial offending tweet about the tragedy.  In a four-part apology on Twitter, Biggs said he was sending positive thoughts to the victims and their families sharing that he now realizes that his comments may have come off as "insensitive" and "ill-timed."  Biggs, who stars in the critically-acclaimed Netflix hit "Orange Is The New Black," initially tweeted a joke that asked, "Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?"

The tweet came just an hour after it was reported that Malaysian Airline Flight 17 may have been shot down by a missile over the Eastern Ukraine.  All 295 people on board the flight are believed to be dead.

The "MTV Video Music Award" nominees were announced yesterday, and BEYONCÉ leads the way with eight nominations. IGGY AZALEA and EMINEM were next with seven apiece.  This year's ceremony goes down on Sunday, August 24th.  Voting is open now at:

Britney Spears is showing her generosity after making headlines for accidentally forgetting to pay a restaurant bill.  The pop star supposedly walked out on the check by mistake after a lunch date with her boyfriend at a Los Angeles-area Cheesecake Factory earlier this week.  TMZ says she's now making amends for her forgetfulness.  A source tells the site Britney's people returned to the chain restaurant to pay the 30-dollar tab, and also gave the waitress who served the singer a 100-dollar tip.
