One of Marvel Comics' most iconic superheroes is undergoing a sex change.  Marvel announced on ABC's "The View" Tuesday that the hammer-wielding "God of Thunder" will now be a woman.  The actual Thor gets severely injured and becomes unworthy of his hammer . . . so a female steps up as his successor.  This doesn't necessarily mean the "Thor" or "Avengers "MOVIES are changing though. Series writer Jason Aaron emphasizes that "This not "She-Thor," "Lady Thor," or "Thorita."   He says this the Thor of the Marvel Universe. The new Thor storyline launches in October.

NICK LACHEY and VANESSA MINNILLO are expecting their second child together . . . a girl.  They made the announcement in a photo on Twitter, showing their 22-month old son walking on a beach, with "It's a Girl" written in the sand.

HALLE BERRY'S new sci-fi show "Extant" is #1 in the primetime ratings with 9.6 million viewers.  The series premiere of the NBC sitcom "Welcome to Sweden" had 3.5 million, and "The Strain" debuted with 3 million on FX.

Sunday's World Cup final was the most talked about single sports event in Facebook history.  88 million people had more than 280 million "interactions" related to the game, which includes status updates, comments and likes.
