TERESA'S TABLOID TRASH 1/21/15

Los Angeles police say someone vandalized an "American Sniper" billboard in West L.A. this week by adding the word "Murder!" in red paint and capital letters. The billboard has since been covered up. The incident comes as debate rages over the main character in the film, real life U.S. Navy SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle. Some people, including several celebrities, have questioned whether Kyle should be presented as a hero in the film.

Former governor Mike Huckabee says the movie itself is valiant in its reminders of how brutal war is and how it destroys the people we send out to fight it. Blake Shelton is adding his thoughts to the "American Sniper" discussion. The country star admits he hasn't seen the film yet, but he "can't WAIT" to do so. He also tweets that he's "proud to support our military.. Period."

Meanwhile the #FakeBaby has gone viral because the baby in "American Sniper" is a doll.

The subject of the next Comedy Central roast will be JUSTIN BIEBER. And he not only agreed to it . . . it was HIS IDEA. A Comedy Central executive joked, quote, "[He's] been asking us for a few years to roast him. We just kept telling him to go create more source material first. We're thrilled he listened." The roast will tape next month and air later this year.

KC native and Modern Family star, Eric Stonestreet stopped by Jimmy Kimmel last night and talked about the Chiefs!

TERESA'S TABLOID TRASH 1/20/15

Since CLINT EASTWOOD's "American Sniper" became a box office hit this weekend, there's been some debate over whether the movie's subject, former Navy SEAL CHRIS KYLE, should be celebrated as a hero. SETH ROGEN caught some heat for comparing the movie to a German propaganda film. Country singer and army veteran CRAIG MORGAN kindly invited him to LEAVE THE COUNTRY. Meanwhile, MICHAEL MOORE caused controversy by calling snipers "cowards".

Jimmy Kimmel is bringing some levity into the "Bachelor" house last night.

Jimmy also set up some new house rules for the women, making them pay one-dollar every time they used the word "amazing."

TIGER WOODS made a surprise appearance in Italy yesterday, where he watched his girlfriend LINDSEY VONN win her record 63rd World Cup skiing title. He also lost one of his front teeth, when someone with a video camera accidently hit him in the face while rushing to get to the winners' podium.

Peter Mayhew, a.k.a. Chewbacca, has been hospitalized for pneumonia. The guy who's played Chewie since the '70s cancelled an appearance over the weekend at a comic shop in Texas . Peter's wife had good news for his fans, writing on Reddit, "He will make a full recovery, and hope to be discharged within a few days. Doctors are incredibly happy with his improvements." The 70-year-old is set to reprise his role in the upcoming trilogy ... including "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Here's what's new on DVD today:

"Lucy" . . . Scarlett Johansson is exposed to a drug that unlocks her brain to operate on a higher level than any human ever has. Morgan Freeman helps her figure out where her new abilities might lead, as she's being chased by hired killers.

"Annabelle" . . . starring the haunted doll Annabelle that was featured in the movie "The Conjuring".

"The Boxtrolls" . . . A stop-motion animated movie starring the kid who plays Bran Stark on "Game of Thrones". He is an orphaned boy trying to save the creatures that raised him from an evil exterminator played by Ben Kingsley.

In music news:

"American Beauty / American Psycho", Fall Out Boy

The remaining members of TLC, T-Boz and Chilli want you to help them raise $150,000 to fund their final album. They have reached out to fans through a new Kickstarter campaign offering VIP tickets and recorded custom personalized voicemails for donations.

TLC will also join The New Kids on the Block on their tour called "The Main Event" along with Nelly. It kicks off on Friday, May 1, 2015, in Las Vegas with stops across the country, ending in Buffalo, N.Y., in July. Tickets can be purchased starting Jan. 31 through Ticketmaster. Pre-sale this Friday. They will be in KC on May 19th at the Sprint Center

TERESA'S TABLOID TRASH 1/14/15

Singer Taylor Swift sent a package and a student loan check to an Overland Park fan, and now the fan's thank you message is gushing through the swarm of Swift fans on social media.
Rebekah Bortniker received the gift from Swift after she sent her own video to the singer that featured Swift with her friends and was edited to the theme song of "Friends."
The gift to Rebekah from Taylor was a clutch purse with the words "New York is my boyfriend". When she opened it, she found a $1,989 check. It's the amount of her popular album '1989'.
Swift also sent Bortniker a painting which read, "BEKS" along with an enclosed note that said: "I'm not a good painter but I think you're so beautiful and positive, even though you're dealing with the stress life brings, so I wanted to make you something." (Fox 4)

Rebekah called our show this morning and gave us a few more details.

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" leads the Golden Raspberry Award nominees with SEVEN nods, including Worst Picture. KIRK CAMERON's "Saving Christmas" and "The Legend of Hercules" were a close second, with six nominations apiece. And no Razzies would be complete without a Worst Actor nod for ADAM SANDLER.

ZOOEY DESCHANEL is expecting her first child this summer. The dad is Zooey's boyfriend, producer Jacob Pechenik. They've been together since mid-2014 . . . so, not even a year. He's 42, she's 34.

For the third year in a row, ELLEN DEGENERES has topped a Harris Interactive poll on America's Favorite TV Personalities. "NCIS" star MARK HARMON also followed at #2 for his third year in a row.

AC/DC and MADONNA will be among the performers at the Grammys this year. They'll be joined by ERIC CHURCH, ARIANA GRANDE, and ED SHEERAN. The Grammys are airing live on February 8th.

The cast of "Community" announced that the sixth season will debut March 17th on Yahoo.

TERESA'S TABLOID TRASH 1/13/15

Rihanna is reportedly having some fun with Hollywood bachelor Leonardo DiCaprio. TMZ says the pop star was caught getting cozy with the actor during a party at the Playboy mansion on Saturday. Witnesses attending the party tell the site they saw the two locking lips in the midst of the all-star bash, which also included guests like Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson, Naomi Campbell and Hilary Duff. Sources say RiRi and Leo were also seen together at the same after party.

Eminem is showing his softer side and granting the wish of a terminally ill fan. TMZ reports that Sunday Em met with 17-year-old Gage Garmo of Michigan, who is battling bone cancer and only has a short time to live. "Slim Shady" got word of Gage after the teen's friends and family started the hashtag "GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem." Eminem and Gage hung out for about one hour.

Preparations for Katy Perry's upcoming Super Bowl halftime show are in full swing. She visited The Today Show Monday and hinted that her entrance and exit will be epic.

STEPHEN COLBERT ended "The Colbert Report" last month, and now we know that "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will debut on September 8th. As previously announced, DAVID LETTERMAN will sign off on May 20th.

When "So You Think You Can Dance" returns for its 12th season this summer, judge MARY MURPHY won't be back. There's been talk that PAULA ABDUL could replace her.
