Now that she's retiring, veteran journalist Barbara Walters is reflecting on the impact of her career. On Wednesday, she told David Letterman that she hopes her work has helped bring women into journalism. Barbara's storied career has spanned over 50-years and during that time she has sat down with countless newsmakers and public figures. On Today’s episode of the View, the show's past co-hosts stop by to bid Barbara farewell… Meredith Vieira; Star Jones; Joy Behar; Debbie Matenopoulos; Lisa Ling; Rosie O'Donnell; and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Radio icon Casey Kasem is no longer missing. Kasem's family has issued a statement saying they've received confirmation that he's been located in Washington state. The 82-year-old DJ is reportedly suffering from a form of dementia that has impaired his ability to speak.
New York City's Standard Hotel has fired an employee who gave an elevator security video to TMZ that apparently shows Jay Z being attacked. The video shot last weekend appears to show Jay Z's sister-in-law, Solange Knowles going after the rapper before a security guard gets in the middle. The Manhattan hotel says the security guard has been fired for breaching hotel security policies.
While the leaker is out of a job, he or she may not have to worry about money for a while. The "New York Post's" "Page Six" reports that the tape, which surfaced on gossip website TMZ this week, sold for 250-thousand-dollars. One source says the tape was shopped for five days before it sold to the highest bidder.
Speaking of Jay Z and Beyonce…they are topping the nominations leader board for the 2014 BET Awards. The music power couple share a three-way tie for the most nominations with rapper Drake, each snagging five nominations a piece. PHARRELL has four. The BET Awards will be presented June 29th at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Rapper and actor Ludacris has been tapped to host this weekend's Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. Luda is taking time out of his filming schedule for "Fast & Furious 7" to host the event Sunday from the MGM Grand Arena.
JESSICA SIMPSON and ERIC JOHNSON have finally set a wedding date ... July 4th weekend.
In TV News…
In a surprising move, CBS decided NOT to move forward with the "How I Met Your Mother" spin-off, "How I Met Your Dad", which was arguably the most-hyped pilot over the past few months. CBS wanted to "re-tool" the show . . . but the producers declined, and are apparently shopping it to other networks.
CBS is bringing "Two and a Half Men" back for one final season.
TBS and CONAN O'BRIEN have agreed to a contract extension that will keep him there through 2018.
And speaking of late night TV, there's talk that JOEL MCHALE could be CRAIG FERGUSON'S replacement .
Former Mizzou player and recent NFL draftee, MICHAEL SAM is getting his own documentary series on OWN.

KC’s own Tech N9ne's Strange Music collaboration album "Strangeulation" is opening strong. In its first week in stores, the album logged 36-thousand sales to open at number five on the Billboard 200 chart.
