Daughter Melissa Rivers tells the "New York Daily News" doctors are working to bring her mother out of a medically-induced coma. The 81-year-old remains on life support and family members will have to decide how long to keep her on a breathing machine. Doctors are expected to assess the level of brain damage today to try to determine whether Rivers will end up in a vegetative state.

Carrie Underwood is pregnant. The country star and former American Idol winner unveiled her big news Monday on Instagram with a photo of her and her dogs, Ace and Penny, who are wearing shirts proclaiming they're becoming a "big brother" and "big sister." The accompanying message says "in honor of "Labor" Day" the pups "would like to make an announcement," and "their parents couldn't be happier." Underwood's rep has also confirmed the news of Carrie's pregnancy to "Us Weekly," while a source tells the magazine the singer and her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher, "couldn't be happier to be starting a family." It's the first child for the couple, who celebrated their fourth anniversary this past July.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" topped the Labor Day weekend box office, earning another $22 million. It's now also the #1 movie of the year with a total of $280 million so far. The horror movie "As Above/So Below" debuted down in 5th place with $10.3 million, and PIERCE BROSNAN'S "The November Man" was right behind it with $10.2 million.

Survivor has lost one of their lead singers. Jimi Jamison's booking agent Sally Irwin is confirming that the rocker died Sunday night. She tells TMZ.com Jimi suffered a heart attack. Jamison was 63. Jamison came to fame with the band Cobra, and joined Survivor in 1984. He's featured on several of Survivor's hits, including "The Search Is Over" and "Is This Love." Jamison also wrote and recorded the song "I'm Always Here" -- the theme to the TV series "Baywatch."

TERESA'S TABLOID TRASH 8/28/14

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are married! E! News is reporting that the couple tied the knot this past Saturday in France with just family and friends in a small private ceremony. Jolie walked down the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox and Pax while Zahara and Vivienne threw petals.  Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers.

The curtain is coming down on Diane Sawyer's tenure as "ABC World News" anchor.  She signed off from her final broadcast last night saying it's been a deep privilege to sit in the anchor chair.  The 68-year-old Sawyer is stepping aside after serving as the show's anchor for five years. Sawyer is staying on with ABC News in a different role.

"Sopranos" creator David Chase is reversing reports suggesting his confirmation that his mob boss character Tony Soprano is still alive.  Reports began circulating Wednesday saying Chase had told a writer that Tony did not die in "The Sopranos'" series finale in 2007.  Chase's rep now tells TheWrap.com Chase's "no" response to the question: "Is Tony Soprano dead?" was "misconstrued."  Leslee Dart says "There is a much larger context for that statement," noting that Chase has said many times on the record that the final scene of 'The Sopranos" raises a spiritual question that has "no right or wrong answer."

Rumor has it that the next "Dancing with the Stars" cast will include:  "Pretty Little Liars" star Janel Parrish, actor Antonio Sabato Jr., and 17-year-old Sadie Robertson from "Duck Dynasty".  ABC won't officially announce the cast until next Thursday.

#PPLFatalFinale was trending this morning…don’t worry…I won’t spoil it for you but I will say that a MAJOR character died last night!

MILEY CYRUS…she  is going off on the media for reporting that the homeless guy she brought to the "VMAs" has a criminal record, and could go back home to his mother if he wanted to.  She Tweeted, quote, "The media never fails to disappoint.  You've chosen to go after Jesse instead of covering the issue of youth homelessness."

"TV Guide" is reporting that a "Full House" REVIVAL is in the works . . . and a lot of the original cast members are involved.  In fact, everyone is down . . . except there's no word on Lori Loughlin, or Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.  It's unclear how close this is to actually happening . . . but it sounds serious enough that it could be pitched to networks.
