FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1
It wasn’t hard to finger this guy for the crime! His severed finger pointed cops right to him! An Arizona man alerted police recently that someone tried to steal copper wiring off his work truck, and had left behind a detached part of his finger caught up in the wiring. An officer retrieved the finger as evidence and forensic techs were able to obtain a print, identifying the suspect as 29-year-old Joshua Allen Governman. They tracked him down, and sure enough, he was missing part of one of his fingers. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft.
Bacon is hard to resist. Case in point: A suspect broke into a Bismarck, North Dakota home Monday just to cook up a plate of bacon! He apparently fried up some strips and downed three beers before leaving. When the homeowner returned home, the smell of bacon permeated the house and she realized someone had broken in through a bedroom window. Cops are still trying to smoke out the smoked meats thief!
FULL OF BEANS!
This guy is full of beans! A man in Britain is so obsessed with baked beans that he changed his name to Captain Beany! And the name change was just the beginning. Beany, formerly known as Barry Kirk, turned his apartment into the world’s only baked bean museum and spends his days painted orange in a custom-made Captain Beany superhero costume. We’re guessing his superpower is atomic farts. "I am passionate about my baked bean collection and by all beans people can come and have a look around," he said. He even once spent four days sitting in a tub of beans to raise money for charity.
Wearing Google Glass doesn’t just make you look silly, it can also get you in trouble with the law! A woman in California received a traffic ticket Tuesday for wearing Google Glass while driving! Cecilia Abadie was pulled over for speeding in San Diego and the officer gave her an additional citation for wearing the high-tech gadget. The cop said the display monitor on the glasses was visible to the driver, and therefore a distraction.
And speaking of driving distractions, a new survey revealed that 11% of U.S. adults admitted to having sex while driving! About 19% of those surveyed said they have eaten using a fork, spoon or knife while driving, 10% have applied makeup and 9% have flirted with another driver. Keep your eyes on the road, people!
ASK THE AUDIENCE: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done while driving?
FULL SPEED AHEAD!
A cross-country road trip was never this speedy! An Atlanta man broke the record last Saturday for fastest drive from New York City to Los Angeles. Ed Bolian made the trip in 28 hours and 50 minutes, shattering the 2006 record by two hours. The 27-year-old spent years outfitting a 2004 Mercedes with gadgets, spare gas tanks and - yes – even bedpans to make the journey as smooth as possible. He also invested in two GPS units that relay traffic information and a police scanner, to help him avoid getting caught for speeding. He traveled at an average speed of 98 mph in order to break the record. Going that fast, he should be thankful that’s all he broke!
THE QUESTION IS…
