TERESA'S TABLOID TRASH 4/23/14

Stephen Colbert is surveying the late night landscape on network television.  The Comedy Central funnyman dropped by CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman" Tuesday to get a little advice from the man he will be replacing next year.  Colbert's "Late Show" visit Tuesday marked his first appearance on the show since he was announced as Letterman's successor two weeks ago.

Lupita Nyong'o is this year's "Most Beautiful" person. The 31-year-old actress took home an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "12 Years a Slave."

Katy Perry is already managing to ruffle feathers with her music video for "Birthday" -- and it hasn't even been released as yet.  The star gave fans a teaser video on Tuesday titled, "World's Worst Birthday Party Entertainers."  It shows Katy dressed incognito as a number of colorful characters.  One is a bar mitzvah entertainer.  A blogger on Salon.com questions the promo's comedic value, wondering why she felt the need to use stereotypes to promote her video.  Katy also plays an oversexed elderly Las Vegas dancer, a hillbilly animal trainer and a Valley Girl princess children's face painter.  The singer tweeted that the video for "Birthday" is "the most insane one [she's] ever done."  It drops in full on Thursday.

DREW BARRYMORE and her husband Will Kopelman welcomed a baby girl yesterday.  Frankie Barrymore Kopelman.

"NCIS" is back to #1 in the ratings with 17.1 million viewers, and "Game of Thrones" is still the most-watched show on cable again with 6.6 million viewers.

Fans of the TV drama "Nashville" will see something a little different this week.  "Nashville: On the Record" is a behind-the-scenes special that delves into the show's music.  Pistol Annies' Ashley Monroe and other songwriters who've penned material for the series will discuss their contributions to the show, while some of the stars of "Nashville" will perform the songs.  Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, and Clare Bowen are a few of the cast members featured in the special episode.  "Nashville: On The Record" will air on ABC at the show's regular time, tonight at 9.
