SAVED BY THE CELL!
In this case, his smartphone was a smart choice! A Florida gas station clerk was saved by his large phone screen Monday during a robbery attempt. An armed man entered the Hess station in the wee hours of the morning and demanded the clerk open the store’s safe. The clerk was unable to do so and the angry crook fired a parting shot from his revolver as he fled. The bullet struck the clerk, but was stopped by his smartphone! The man had no idea he’d even been shot until he took his phone out of his shirt pocket. What a lifesaver!
THE GOLDEN YEARS!
Signing a prenup would have been much easier! A man in Colorado was so desperate to prevent his wife from getting any money in the divorce that he claimed to have converted the couple’s life savings of $500,000 into gold and dumped it into the trash! Earl Ray Jones, 52, told his wife’s divorce lawyer of the outrageous plot, but it’s still unclear if he actually went through with it. There are no witnesses of him dumping the gold bars into trash cans, and no gold has turned up at any local landfills. He’s literally turning his wife into a golddigger. What a trashy way to handle things!
He wasn’t exactly a well-seasoned criminal! A suspected groper was caught in Pennsylvania after leaving behind a trail of curly fries! The man allegedly groped a female employee at Arby’s Wednesday night when she handed over his order at the drive-thru window. The employee gave a description of the car and police found it outside a motel less than a mile away. Officers spotted the trail of Arby’s fries and sauce and it led them from the vehicle straight to the room of 36-year-old James Cowan. He was arrested and charged with a single count of indecent assault. Not only is he a pervert, he’s a slob too!
Police in Colorado are searching for a thief who went ape over a woman’s pet monkey! Authorities said the man pepper-sprayed the woman and fled with the carrier containing the black cap Capuchin Monday. The woman had traveled from Missouri to meet a potential buyer for the pet in the parking lot of a Grand Junction hotel. But it seems the “buyer” wasn’t looking to pay up. The monkey is illegal to own in Colorado, though cops don’t anticipate any charges against the woman. They are looking for the suspect, who may or may not have a monkey on his back.
