Amanda Bynes is leaving a treatment facility but she failed to show up for a court hearing for her bong-tossing case in New York City Thursday. The judge apparently decided to cut her a little slack and reschedule the hearing for January 10th. According to the "New York Post," a lawyer for the troubled actress explained to the judge that Bynes had recently been released to the custody of her parents after spending several months in a Malibu facility for mental illness. The prosecutor reportedly also refrained from pushing for an arrest for the no-show, indicating that both sides were close to a plea bargain.
Bynes is charged with reckless endangerment, attempted evidence tampering and marijuana possession for a bizarre incident on May 23rd in which she allegedly threw a bong from the window of her 36th floor apartment in New York City. The actress also has a DUI case to address on the West Coast where a Los Angeles-area judge recently ruled her competent to stand trial.

The L.A. County Coroner released PAUL WALKER'S cause of death yesterday. He died from injuries suffered in the crash, AND from the car fire. The driver, Roger Rodas, died on impact. Their deaths were ruled an accident, and authorities say they were going at least DOUBLE the posted 45 mile-per-hour speed limit. It's not known if any mechanical problems led to the crash.
Meanwhile… We found out this week that Paul Walker once bought an engagement ring for a soldier to give to his wife. But that isn't even the whole story. The couple he bought the ring for NEVER KNEW it was him, until now. Their names are Kristen and Kyle Upham.
The story only came out because a clerk in the jewelry store came forward after Paul died. Her name is Irene King, and she worked for Bailey, Banks and Biddle in Santa Barbara, California, back in 2004 when the Uphams went shopping for a ring.
The couple says Paul talked to them and found out Kyle had just come back from Iraq. They left without buying a ring that day, but the next day they were called back to the store, and someone handed them the ring and told them it was paid for. But Paul had left instructions not to give out his name.
Here's a news report from CBS2 in Los Angeles, including comments from Irene King about how Paul Walker ended up buying the ring for the Uphams:
Here are a few words from the wife, Kristen:
