Children's Mercy Hospital

Well, Halloween has come and gone and with it there were a few events that I was out at and of course I always have a few coming up. However, I'm going to change the routine of my posts up a bit as something that is near and dear to my heart as a nurse has been brought to my attention and I plan on helping with it and request the help of anyone who is able to as well. This year two major donors for the Children's Mercy Hospital Christmas Fund backed out right before Christmas. What does this mean? Well the parents of patients at CMH are given Snowflake Dollars to purchase gifts for their children in a miniature store that CMH sets up each year for the holidays. Most children receive 3-4 gifts and there could be as many as 200 children at CMH during the holidays, which means a lot of presents or money needs to be collected to make sure that these brave children who are in such a tragic situation for the holidays can still enjoy presents and some semblance of normalcy during the holidays. It also means that families who have neither the time and often the money to purchase presents for their child can still provide presents and smiles to their loved one who needs all the blessings and bright spirits that they can receive. At the following website, you will find a list of items that are requested by CMH to provide for their patients, but of course monetary donations are always welcome.

http://www.childrensmercy.org/Give_to_CMH/Ways_to_Give/Donate_Goods/Current_Wish_List/

One of the biggest supporters of cosplay in Kansas City, Elite Comics, started off this drive by donating five hundred dollars to the effort and has challenged the local cosplayers to do all they can to donate, raise money and donations, and spread the word about CMH and the patients there who need our help. Please join me by making a personal donation, dropping off donations at Elite Comics, or contacting me to arrange a donation or fundraising effort. I know this time of year is filled with organizations requesting donations, time, money, emotions, etc., but this is about helping children in need and what you donate will go directly do that effort. There are no questions about where your money or item goes as many people have reservations about these days, your donation will go directly to a family and child in need who is ill and staying at Children's Mercy Hospital. Your donation will bring smiles and hope to a child who needs it most as they fight multiple different types of fights and for some who may not have another Christmas or holiday season. Please help me give back to the ones who I hope to nurse one day, the ones that I love to entertain and cosplay for.

With the significance of this post to me, I will be writing in the near future on the Halloween Events and the upcoming events that I will be attending with Umbrella Corp Denver and some other charity works that we are supporting in Kansas City. For now, please donate, share this post, and send any suggestions to me by commenting on this post or contacting Mix 93.

Thank you,

Comic Con Ron
