Amazon is raising the price on its premium membership tier to 99 dollars per year. The price hike on Prime is the first since the service made its debut nine years ago. Prime members currently pay 79 dollars a year to get free two-day shipping, free Kindle downloads and free movie and TV shows through Prime Instant Video. The price hike will take effect for current Prime members when they make their annual renewal.
An 11 week "Jeopardy" winning streak is over. Arthur Chu, who inspired the Twitter hashtag #ChuChuTrain, had accumulated the third-biggest cash winnings in the show's history before his loss. He won almost $300,000. Chu's strategy of jumping around the "Jeopardy" game board out of conventional playing order triggered some backlash among viewers.
A list of Lindsay Lohan's supposed celebrity lovers, rumored to have been written by the actress herself, has leaked online. Names like Justin Timberlake, James Franco, Adam Levine and Zac Efron appear on the handwritten list of 36, obtained by "InTouch Weekly." The magazine says it got the list from a source who claims to have been present when Lindsay wrote it. The source says Lindsay spent some time penning her "personal conquest list" on the night of January 30th while hanging out with friends at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The list is a who's who of some of Hollywood's hottest men, including actors like Colin Farrell, Joaquin Phoenix and even the late Heath Ledger. It also names some who Lindsay has been romantically linked to in the past, like Wilmer Valderrama and more recently, singer Max George from The Wanted.
Comic and former sitcom star, Roseanne is at the center of a lawsuit filed by the parents of the man who killed Florida teenager Trayvon Martin. Robert and Gladys Zimmerman filed legal action on Monday, alleging that the TV star tried to "incite a lynch mob to descend" on their Florida home before their son George was arrested for Martin's death. Roseanne revealed the location of the couple's home to her thousands of followers on Twitter, even though the neighborhood watch volunteer was not living with his parents at the time. They're seeking unspecified damages.
After 26 years of marriage, the stars of TLC's "Little People, Big World" are taking a break. Matt and Amy Roloff announced what they called a trial separation on Wednesday. The special one-hour episode of "Little People, Big World" addressing the couple's marital status will air on March 25th on TLC.
Angelina Jolie's battle to stave off cancer is not yet over. The Oscar winning actress tells "Entertainment Weekly" she still has to undergo more surgery to lower her cancer risk. In this week's cover story for "Entertainment Weekly" Jolie says she's getting advice from a lot of "wonderful people" to get through her next stage of surgery.
"The Big Bang Theory" will remain on CBS through 2017. CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler calls "The Big Bang Theory" "the biggest comedy force on television," …The show is averaging almost 20 million viewers and is up four percent in viewership from last year. "Big Bang" star Jim Parson has also won three Emmy Awards for his leading role on the series.
