Kansas City Comic Con

So, San Diego Comic Con is this weekend and a lot of us are feeling like Ariel from The Little Mermaid…we want to be where the people are…

A few of the local cosplayers I am privileged enough to associate with will be there representing our area and one of them even made the Immortan Joe mask that Conan O'Brien wore for his SDCC material, Mason Bartlett kept this project a secret until the debut of it by Conan's staff. If you are interested in these, yes, you can buy one on his Etsy site in limited quantities.

As a matter of fact, several of the cosplayers I know do commission work or sell their costumes when they are done with them as it helps fund new cosplays or becomes a full time business for friends of mine like Stephen K Smith.

A lot of news will be coming out of SDCC and I hope to get access to some photos to share plus I will be doing a follow up report next week on some of the big happenings at SDCC. For those of you who collect the POP vinyl figures, there are always SDCC exclusives and I know Teresa will be interested in the Groot figure being released. For those of you who can't make it to SDCC, many of them can be purchased online and Hot Topic also carries some of them.

In local comic con news, the inaugural Kansas City Comic Con event is next month! August 7-9 at Bartle Hall  at 301 W 13th St in Downtown Kansas City, MO. I'll be covering more of the excitement as the weeks lead up to the event and there will definitely be a lot of post convention coverage too. What will be there? Well, I'm glad that you asked. There will be comic vendors, artists, souvenirs and T-shirt vendors of all sorts, cosplayers and photo opportunities of course, plus several stars such as: Kristian Nairn from Game of Thrones, Pam Grier from Jackie Brown and Foxy Brown, and Sean Astin from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Goonies plus many more with autograph opportunities and some photo opportunities as well. What else you ask? There are always lots of things for the kids and the adults such as gaming, panels with the stars and cosplayers with discussions about a multitude of topics plus often there is music, dancing, photos, food, and tons of other stuff that you just have to see!

I know this is a short post, but school is keeping me very busy…more to come soon!

Until next time, I am Vector of Umbrella Corp Denver. Umbrella – Our Business is Life Itself.
